Prosper’s OAuth 2.0 Requirement

Overview:

Recently Prosper pushed a new API out that uses OAuth 2.0 to connect.

This replaced the legacy Basic Authentication that we previously used.

Unfortunately, this now requires users to generate a Client ID and Client Secret~! There will be many updates coming out in the coming weeks to attempt to correct/enhance/simplify this login process, as well as make use of and adapt to the new API structure.

There are a few known issues that were accidentally shipped with the 4.2.0 version of the P2P Lending application. These are expected to be resolved with a day or two, and can be seen at: Enhancement Requests.

New Direction:

We will be making will be to include more meta-data / raw data for details in the different portions of the P2P Lending application.

These values will be provided, to enable users to ‘Submit Enhancements’ for new features. By knowing all the available values the API offers,  we hope to see an increase in Enhancement Requests.

P2P Reader 4.0.1

The first version of the ‘P2P Reader’ with the complete architectural overhaul.

It is first replacing the Prosper P2P Reader, which will now show as ‘P2P Reader’ on mobile devices.

Many new features have been added, including:
– UPDATE: Update to data-management / improving performance
– NEW: Multi account support
– NEW: Cross platform support (LendingClub / Prosper)
– UPDATE: UI enhancements
– UPDATE: Many minor improvements to performance / usability

The most notable enhancement is the data-management. Users who have large portfolios with hundreds of notes previously were experiencing application crashes. This has since been resolved, and these sort of crashes should no longer be occurring.

Multiple account support / Cross platform support was added as per request from many individuals who utilize P2P Lending on Prosper and LendingClub, manage their retirement with P2P Lending, or a combination of the both. With this feature, P2P Reader will serve as a singular source mobile application for review account information.

A separate ‘Submit Enhancement‘ item was added to the menu, which will serve to encourage users to submit enhancements.

Rent Calculator 3.0.2

New Version of the Rent Calculator application.

This new version is a complete re-write of the application, this allowed for many new updates / features to be added. Including:

  1. Switch of data storage from Shared Preferences to a local mobile database. This allows for better memory management, and less crashing.
  2. Swipe-to-refresh has been replaced by an auto refresh any time a change is made
  3. Updates/Deletes are now made by tapping the item row
  4. Verification feature added to double-check the math (tap row to see this option)
  5. Adjustments have been added for even more adaptation to different shared living situations.
    1. Example: If it’s decided the person with the Master bed-room should pay extra, an adjustment can be made to add $100 to their costs, which will be divided among the rest of the Variable Rate payers. Fixed Rate payers are not affected by adjustments
  6. % of Total added. This is simply informational to show how much of the total cost each person is paying

NOTE: This re-write has been written to allow for cross-platform compatibility. A future iOS / Windows application could be written.. once enough interest has been found.
